    Algunas veces, y debido a esa violencia extrema contra la mujer que culmina en su asesinato a manos de su pareja o expareja, o del hijo a la madre (de eso no se habla) hay manifestaciones de mujeres (a las que asisten unos pocos hombres) exigiendo, estas sí, educación y cambios legales. Las organizaciones de mujeres exigen educación y legislación para, por un lado, cambiar la mentalidad con miras al futuro, y por otro castigar los delitos en contra de las mujeres ocurridos en el presente. En ocasiones incluso hay minutos de silencio en las instalaciones de entidades que conforman parte de la estructura de la Administración del Estado, en todos sus niveles de gobierno. Salen los alcaldes, machistas de manual la inmensa mayoría de ellos, a decir que lo sienten y que decretan un minuto de silencio, o dos.PALABRAS CLAVE: Violencia; Género; Hombres; Maltrato; Machismo.

    REFLECTIONS AROUND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND ITS TYPIFICATION IN THE ECUADORIAN LEGAL SYSTEMABSTRACTSometimes, due to this extreme violence against women that culminates in their murder at the hands of their partner or ex-partner, or of the son to the mother (that is not talked about) there are protests by women (attended by a few men) demanding, these yes, education and legal changes. Women's organizations demand education and legislation to, on the one hand, change the mind for the future, and on the other, punish crimes against women that have occurred in the present. Sometimes there are even minutes of silence in the facilities of entities that are part of the structure of the State Administration, at all levels of government.
