Este ensayo examina los mecanismos de articulación política que se crearon en-tre el corregidory los pueblos de indios que integraron el partidode Guatavita.Analiza la naturaleza y el monto del tributo que pagaron los indios y el manejoque el corregidorhizo de estos recursos. Estudia las cargas fiscales que se impu-sieron sobre la encomienday los vínculos políticos que se desarrollaron entreencomenderos,corregidoresy Estado colonial. La evidencia histórica que sirvede sustento a este trabajo proviene de la contabilidad que presentó el corregi-dorde Guatavita ante las autoridades coloniales a finales del siglo XVII.

This essay examines the mechanisms of political articulation, which were crea-ted between the corregidor and the Indian people who formed part of the Gua-tavitan partido. It offers an analysis of the nature and the amount of tribute paidby the Indians and how the corregidor managed and spent the resources. It stu-dies the fiscal burdens that were imposed on the encomienda and the politicalties which were developed between the encomenderos, corregidores and the Co-lonial State. The historical evidence that supports this research comes from thebookkeeping that the Guatavitan corregidor presented before the colonial autho-rities at the end of the 17thcentury.
