Resumen de Contribución al bien común de una experiencia de Aprendizaje en Servicio Interdisciplinario en una institución chilena

  Si se considera la naturaleza multidimensional de los fenómenos sociales, las demandas para la formación de profesionales y la importancia de contribuir al bienestar social desde los procesos educativos, el objetivo del presente artículo es analizar el desarrollo de una experiencia piloto de Aprendizaje-Servicio (ApS) interdisciplinario en una institución de educación superior chilena desde su aporte al entorno local y experiencia, lo que revela la articulación entre estudiantes, docentes y proyecto en una comunidad beneficiada. Desde un enfoque cualitativo, esta investigación-acción contó con la participación de 127 estudiantes, cinco académicos y 80 habitantes de una organización vecinal. Se aplicaron mapas de empatía, entrevistas grupales, entrevistas en profundidad y registros etnográficos. Los resultados muestran el aporte de la experiencia para generar servicios tangibles pertinentes a las necesidades definidas por la comunidad intervenida y para favorecer los aprendizajes disciplinares, compromiso social y pensamiento crítico de los estudiantes de las carreras participantes. Ello revela la importancia de avanzar hacia la interdisciplinariedad para abordar situaciones sociales. Los hallazgos refuerzan los logros pedagógicos de ApS y la participación de la comunidad que privilegia los bienes comunitarios por sobre los individuales. Además, se analizan ámbitos susceptibles de ser abordados en futuras investigaciones.

  Considering the multidimensional nature of social phenomena, the demands for training professionals, and the importance of contributing to social welfare through educational processes, the objective of this article is to analyze the development of an interdisciplinary Service-Learning pilot experience in a Chilean higher education institution from its contribution to the local environment and participants experience, which emphasizes the coordination between students, teachers, and the project that enhances the contribution to the community. This action research, from a qualitative approach, had the participation of 127 students, five academics, and 80 inhabitants of a neighborhood organization, and used empathy maps, group interviews, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic records. The results provide information about the contribution of the experience to generate tangible services relevant to the needs identified by the target community, also the contribution to promote the disciplinary learning of students from the careers involved, including their social commitment and critical thinking, highlighting the importance of moving towards interdisciplinarity to address social situations. These findings reinforce the Service-Learning educational achievements, and community participation that prioritizes common goods over individual ones, and analyze potential areas to be approached in future experiences and research.
