  Esta experiencia se da en el marco de la asignatura Tecnología Sociedad y Cultura, ubicada en el octavo semestre de la Carrera de Ingeniería Agroindustrial, de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, Venezuela. Se trata de dos estrategias utilizadas con los alumnos para motivarlos al uso de internet como herramienta valiosa para su carrera. Una, un contacto virtual que debe realizar cada alumno con un par, en ingeniería agroindustrial o carrera afin, fuera de Venezuela. De acuerdo a un protocolo cada estudiante debe propiciar una conversación con el par de otra universidad sobre características académicas, personal docente e infraestructura de la carrera en cada universidad; finalmente, realiza la comparación de los dos pensa, mediante un análisis crítico presentado en un informe. La otra estrategia consiste en la formación de equipos de trabajo para buscar e investigar software especializados en el área de la agroindustria, para la posterior presentación de aquel que hayan considerado más completo, versátil y útil. Se ha trabajado con 195 alumnos que han cursado la asignatura entre el 2007 y 2009. Se ha podido constatar que estas actividades son apreciadas por los alumnos y son consideradas como interesantes y motivadoras.

  This experience occurs in the context of the subject Technology, Society and Culture, which is located at the eighth semester of Agroindustrial Engineering Career, of the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, Venezuela. This activity consists in two strategies used to motivate students to use internet such as a valuable tool for their career. The first strategy is a virtual contact that every student should do with an agroindustrial engineering or similar career student, out of Venezuela. According to the protocol, every student should establish a conversation with the par of another university about academic characteristics, academic staff and infrastructure of the career in each university; finally, they have to make a comparison between the two pensa, through a critical analysis presented in a report. The other strategy consists in the formation of work teams to seek and research about specialized softwares in agroindustry, choosing the most complete, versatile and useful software at their discretion, for the subsequent presentation. The work has been done with 195 students who have taken the course between 2007 and 2009. These activities have been appreciated by students and they consider them interesting and motivating
