En el contexto latinoamericano Colombia y Venezuela hacen parte de los países que han reconocido la trascendencia de la familia a través de la creación de normas, y de autoridades e instituciones que dentro de sus funciones asumen la protección de la unidad familiar.
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar los fenómenos de violencia intrafamiliar y migración desde la perspectiva de ambos países, y la protección que el Estado colombiano otorga a los migrantes venezolanos residentes en el territorio nacional, para lo cual se determinará la función de la familia como base de la sociedad, se realizará la comparación de la normatividad existente resaltando que Colombia es un país más garantista en materia de violencia intrafamiliar, se analizarán los instrumentos internacionales reguladores de la protección contra la conducta mencionada, se resaltará la importancia e impacto del fenómeno de la migración de los ciudadanos venezolanos e identificarán las organizaciones a las cuales pueden acudir cuando sean víctimas de violencia intrafamiliar en Colombia; a través de la implementación de un método de investigación de tipo mixto, documental y de análisis descriptivo, donde se consultarán fuentes de información secundarias, normas y doctrina de carácter nacional e internacional.

In the Latin American context, Colombia and Venezuela are among those countries that have recognized the importance of the family through the creation of norms, and of authorities and institutions that, within their functions, assume the protection of the family unit.
This article aims to analyze the phenomena of domestic violence and migration from the perspective of both countries, and the protection that the Colombian State grants to Venezuelan migrants residing in the national territory, for which the function of the family as the basis of society will be determined, the comparison of existing regulations will be made, highlighting that Colombia is a country with more guarantees in terms of domestic violence, the international instruments regulating the protection against the aforementioned conduct will be analyzed, the importance and impact of the phenomenon of migration of Venezuelan citizens will be highlighted and the organizations to which they can turn when they are victims of domestic violence in Colombia will be identified; through the implementation of a mixed-type research method, documentary and descriptive analysis, where secondary sources of information, norms and doctrine of a national and international nature will be consulted.
