El objetivo de este trabajo es dar a conocer algunas de las últimas investigaciones sobre el Ceremonial seguido en el siglo XIX por las Diputaciones Provinciales y sus ayuntamientos, según la práctica protocolaria habitual de estas instituciones públicas con motivo de la visita de reyes y reinas. Las notas que aquí se recogen constituyen una reflexión retrospectiva sobre esta materia teniendo en cuenta algunos trabajos sobre el tema y partiendo de la consideración de que en esta etapa la monarquía se está adaptando al nuevo régimen político del Estado Constitucional y a la nueva realidad de los territorios de la nación. En este nuevo escenario los viajes reales a las provincias son una oportunidad para que los monarcas y las autoridades puedan fortalecer sus lazos a través del propio ceremonial de visita y recepción. De esta manera, algunas de estas visitas concretas a territorios específicos son una muestra de lo que el Protocolo contemporáneo ha significado en estos actos en las relaciones de la Corona con el Estado como expresión y manifestación de la imagen del poder en las Provincias.

The objective of this work is to publicize some of the latest researchs on the Ceremonial of the nineteenth century followed by the Provincial Councils and their municipalities according to the usual protocol practice of these public institutions on the occasion of the visit of kings and queens. The notes that are collected here are a retrospective reflection on this matter taking into account the latest works on the subject and starting from the consideration that at this stage the monarchy is adapting to the new political regime of the Constitutional State and the new reality of the territories of the nation. In this new scenario, the royal trips to the provinces are the opportunity for the monarchs and the authorities to strengthen their ties throughtheir own ceremonial visit and reception. In this way, some of these specific visits to some specific territories are a sample of what the contemporary Protocol has meant in these specific acts in the relations of the Crown with the State as an expression and manifestation of the image of power in the Provinces.
