  • Resumen
    • The by-product obtained from olive oil extraction employing the two phases system (oil-orujo) has a high moisture and some chemical elements in its composition who make difficult the evaporation and the extraction of the residual oil that contain it. Besides, it contains less oil than the obtained with press traditional system (oil-orujo-alpechin). Everything lead up to a diminution of its commercial interest. shows it, short term, as a potential residue. Treatments for this waste, viable technical, economical and environmentally; could be energetic applications: anaerobic digestion and direct combustion. The products obtained will be biogas, that can be used in a burner to produce heat for industrial purposes or in a moto-generator to produce electricity; or high pressure and temperature steam in thermal plants to generate electricity.
