A más de 800 años del encuentro de san Francisco con el Sultán, la actitud de Francisco para el diálogo marca y constituye un innovador, pero a la vez genuino, deseo de comunicar y anunciar la fe cristiana fuera del radio explorado hasta ese entonces. Este artículo presenta el encuentro de Francisco con el Sultán y su aporte a la misión y al diálogo con los musulmanes. Para esto se expone el contexto en que nace esta iniciativa por parte de san Francisco en pleno medio evo y posteriormente las conclusiones y reflexiones llevadas a cabo a partir del particular encuentro entre representantes del cristianismo e islam respectivamente.

More than 800 years after the meeting of Saint Francis with the Sultan, the attitude of Francis to dialogue marks and constitutes an innovative but at the same time genuine desire to communicate and announce the Christian faith outside the radius explored until then. This article present the Francis’ meeting with the Sultan and his contribution to mission and dialogue with Muslims. For this, the context in which this initiatian ve was born by Saint Francis in the middle of Evo is exposed and later the conclusions and reflections carried out from the particular meeting between representatives of Christianity and Islam respectively.
