    Galdós parte de algunos tópicos platónicos que un lector medianamente culto conoce: la polis o república, el demiurgo, la caverna, el mundo de las ideas y la anagnórisis, la inmortalidad del alma y la anamnesis, las cuatro manías, las tres almas y el auriga, el espejo, el cuerpo como cárcel del alma, entre otros. Los trae Galdós, banalizados o parodiados aquí en una protagonista de hipertrofiada, quijotesca, imaginación, obsesionada por su origen noble, para contrastar conceptualmente su actitud con el determinismo social y moral.

    Galdós’s ideas stem from some Platonic topics that a moderately learned reader knows: the polis or republic, the demiurge, the cavern, the world of ideas and the anagnorisis, the immortality of the soul and the anamnesis, the four manias, the three souls and the charioteer, the mirror, the body as a prison of the soul, among others. Galdós brings them, banalized or parodied here in a protagonist of hypertrophied, quixotic, imagination, obsessed by her noble origin, to conceptually contrast your attitude with social and moral determinism.
