This paper aims to identify the lexical variations from the ́Causa Mortis’ and to investigate a variation from social-historical and cultural context, looking for extra linguistics factors that make available the study. We are going to reference from philosophical studies by Sacramento; Santos (2017) and in variationist Sociolinguistic by Labov (2008) and Tarallo (2007). Methodologically, is a thought, using a qualitative and an exploratory approach by (Gil, 2002) and the analysis data from of Variationist Sociolinguistic principles. The results showed up the use of six recurrent (6) units analyzed on the lexical, it pointing that the use of the lexical variant has changed for extra linguistic factors, like that: the social judgments, certain diseases, changing in medical areas and social inferences among the years. Therefore, we are going to reinforce which the choice of a variant is given in another hand into the social relation.
Este artigo objetiva identificar as variações lexicais de causa mortis em documentos de certidão de óbito e investigar o contexto social-histórico e cultural das variações, visando a análise de fatores extralinguísticos que favorecem o seu uso. Amparamo-nos nos estudos filológicos de Sacramento; Santos (2017) e na Sociolinguística variacionista, com base em Labov (2008) e Tarallo (2007). Metodologicamente, é uma reflexão exploratória e de abordagem qualitativa (GIL, 2002), a partir da análise/ interpretação dos dados com base na Sociolinguística variacionista. Os resultados evidenciaram uma recorrência nas 6 (seis) unidades lexicais analisadas, apontando que os usos das variantes sofreram influências de fatores extralinguísticos, tais como: os julgamentos sociais, as consequências de determinadas doenças, as mudanças nas distintas áreas medicinais e as inferências sociais decorrentes dos diferentes anos. Portanto, reiteramos que a escolha por uma variante em detrimento de outra se dá por meio dos usos da língua e sua relação com elementos sociais.
