    El artículo debate en torno a la mentira y la verdad a través del análisis de la utilización política de ambas nociones como parte de una estrategia de defensa y afirmación de experiencias queer en el siglo XIX inglés. Mediante el abordaje de dos juicios emblemáticos para la historia de la sexualidad lésbica y gay –los de Woods and Pirie y el de Oscar Wilde– este texto busca rescatar cómo la imaginación, la pose y el artificio se erigieron dentro del mundo queer como formas de existencia contra la injuria y la creación imperialista de una naturaleza heterosexual, blanca y reproductiva. No encontraremos aquí estrategias puras de resistencia, limpias de clasismo o de racismo, sino modulaciones que usan los artilugios de la obligación a la verdad de sí y de los discursos dominantes para actualizar la incomodidad en lo que espera ser visto –incluso cuando se reproduzca– y subsistir en las opacidades.

    This article enters the debate around lies and truth through the analysis of the political utilization of both notions as part of a strategy of defense and affirmation of queer experiences in nineteenth-century England. By means of examining two emblematic cases in the history of sexuality and of the lesbian/gay communities –that of Woods and Miss Pirie and Oscar Wilde's– this text seeks to underscore how imagination, pose and artifice against nature erected themselves within the queer world as forms of existence against injury and the imperialist creation of a heterosexual, white, and reproductive nature. We will not find here pure strategies of resistence, devoid of classism or racism, but modulations that resort to gadgets of the obligation of the truth of oneself and of the dominant discourses to actualize the uneasiness in what is expected to be seen – even when it is reproduced– and to subsist in opacities.
