Resumen de Los justos en el conflicto armado colombiano: Intercambios simbólicos euro-latinoamericanos para el posconflicto

En Colombia la lucha por la memoria histórica se ha focalizado en la oposición entre víctimas y victimarios. Aquí introduciré una tercera figura, la de los “justos en el conflicto armado colombiano”, rescatando así la categoría de “justos entre las naciones”, que hasta ahora se ha utilizado exclusivamente con referencia al holocausto judío. Dar este paso permite, primero, introducir un instrumento novedoso para cauterizar el tejido civil lacerado de sociedades como la colombiana, que salen de conflictos de larga duración, y deben reactivar la formación de lazos de solidaridad entre ciudadanos pertenecientes a grupos sociales y políticos distintos; segundo, proveer una herramienta narrativa útil para contrarrestar los efectos negativos de la polarización extrema sobre la sostenibilidad de un discurso civil en la esfera pública colombiana; y finalmente, reflexionar sobre los retos inherentes a ciertos intercambios simbólicos entre Europa y América Latina.

In Colombia the struggle over historical memory has focused on the opposition between victims and perpetrators. Here, I will introduce a third figure, that of the “righteous in the Colombian armed conflict”, thereby recovering the category of the “righteous among nations”, which to date has been exclusively used with reference to the Jewish Holocaust. Taking this step will allow me, first, to introduce an innovative tool for the purpose of cicatrizing the torn civil fabric of societies like the Colombian that come out of long lasting conflicts and need to restart the formation of solidarity ties among citizens belonging to distinct social and political groups. Second, it will serve as a narrative tool to counter the effects of extreme polarization over the sustainability of civil discourse within the Colombian public sphere. Finally, it will provide an opportunity to reflect on the challenges that are inherent in certain symbolic exchanges between Europe and Latin America.
