Entre el estigma y la invisibilidad: inmigrantes colombianos en Holanda

    Este artículo describe las diferentes fases y modalidades a partir de las que han llegado los emigrantes colombianos a las principales ciudades holandesas. Tras presentar algunas de sus características socio-demográficas, el texto muestra las principales actividades productivas y sociales que estos inmigrantes desarrollan en Holanda y hace énfasis en algunas de sus peculiaridades por medio de la comparación con otras poblaciones de inmigrantes en este mismo país. Finalmente, describe algunas de las dificultades vividas durante el proceso de su recepción e inserción en la sociedad holandesa y las nuevas dinámicas que experimentan los hijos de estos inmigrantes.

    This paper describes the various phases and modalities of immigration of Colombian people to cities of Holland. After the presentation of some of the sociodemographic characteristics, the text shows the main productive and social activities of these immigrants, and underlines some of their peculiarities in comparison with other migrating populations to the same place. Finally, the paper describes some of the difficulties experienced by these migrants during the reception and insertion process in the Dutch society and the new dynamics experimented by the children of these immigrants.
