    El Casino del Príncipe fue una asociación fundada en 1836, al calor del liberalismo monárquico constitucional ¿tuvo algo que ver con el rey, el palacio real, o el sistema relacional de la Corte? Diversos estudios mostraron su papel como espacio de sociabilidad para la adaptación del liberalismo político, donde actuó de manera informal como motor de cambio, uniéndose a los mecanismos que promovieron una modernización en sentido político. Pero, ¿dónde quedaban las fuerzas tradicionales, aquellas que habían permanecido junto al poder monárquico durante siglos? ¿se relacionaban en el casino de forma presencial antiguos y nuevos poderes? ¿qué papel cumplía la idea de palacio o su cercanía simbólica? ¿mantenían alguna relación con sus integrantes, fuesen gentiles-hombres, grandes o reyes? Este estudio aborda tales cuestiones entre Palacio Real y el Casino del Príncipe (o de Madrid), explorando relaciones sociales, celebraciones simbólicas y padrinazgos.

    This study explores the relationships between the Casino association and the Royal Palace. The Casino del Príncipe was a Gentlemanly Capitalism Club founded in 1836 in the heat of the arrival of monarchical constitutional liberalism in Spain. We may ask if it had any connection with the monarchy, the Palace, or even the Court's relationship system. Various studies have shown the role of this sociability space in the development of political liberalism. In that process, it would participate as a mechanism for change, joining the informal institutions that would promote political modernization. But, where were the traditional forces, those that had prevailed together with the monarchical power during previous centuries? Did the old powers of Royal Palace connect to the new ones of the Casino in some face-to-face way? What role did the idea of ??the Palace play? Was important the symbolic closeness with its district or its members, whether they were royalty or their chosen knights? This article examines those questions.
