El propósito de este trabajo es dejar planteado que la migración indígena está íntimamente relacionada con los diferentes sistemas de producción y comercialización que tienen lugar en las áreas de asentamiento indígena; pudiéndose observar un proceso migratorio cuyos extremos serían, por un lado, la existencia de áreas indígenas que fueron sometidas a una sobreexplotación de sus recursos y, por tanto, la población de estas áreas emigra. Por otro lado, existen áreas donde la explotación y comercialización aún es posible y la población indígena puede ser retenida; sin embargo, actualmente ya presentan ligera tendencia hacia la emigración. A manera de ejemplo se analizan tres áreas indígenas: mazateca, del norte de Oaxaca; nahua, de la Sierra de Zongolica, Veracruz, y la mazahua. del NW del estado de México.
The purpose of this paper is to set that indian migration is strongly related to the different systems of production and commercialization which come up in the areas of indian settlements; observing a migration process., which shows the existence of indian areas with over exploitation of resources in which population can not be retained. And on the other hand, there are areas where exploitation and commercialization are still possible and thus indian population can be retained, nevertheless, at present, the indian population shows a light tendency to emigration. In way of example are been analized three indian areas: mazateca from northern of Oaxaca State; nahua from the Sierra de Zongolica of Veracruz State, and mazahua from the north–west of state of Mexico.
