Resumen de Musealizar el presente: la construcción de la pandemia en The Covid Art Museum

  Este trabajo pretende analizar la novedosa experiencia que representa, desde un punto de vista comunicacional, artístico y político, The Covid Art Museum (@covidartmuseum), un museo digital que surgió a partir de la pandemia generada por la COVID-19. Para realizar dicho análisis se han considerado las obras publicadas en el museo durante el período comprendido entre su inauguración hasta su primer año, además de una selección de artículos periodísticos y académicos relacionados con la temática. Si bien se trata de un novedoso proyecto museístico, se concluye que su creación —en medio de una crisis sanitaria sin precedentes que generó el cierre de casi la totalidad de los museos físicos a nivel mundial— ha representado un interesante y necesario acto político que buscó no solo preservar y promover el patrimonio artístico de la humanidad sino también generar un espacio de unión y diálogo.

  This paper aims to analyze the new experience that was, from a communicational, artistic, and political point of view, by The Covid Art Museum (@covidartmuseum), a digital museum that emerged from the pandemic generated by the COVID-19. In order to carry out this analysis, the pieces published in the museum during the period between its inauguration and its first year were considered, as well as a selection of journalistic and academic articles related to the subject. Although it is a novel museum project, it can be concluded that its creation - in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis that led to the closure of almost all physical museums worldwide - represented an interesting and necessary political act that aimed not only to preserve and promote the artistic heritage of humanity at the same time as generates a space for union and dialogue.
