Resumen de Estrategias Educativas Implementadas en la UMT ante la Pandemia de la COVID-19

  La repentina aparición en China del COVID-19, en diciembre de 2019 y su ulterior expansión por todo el mundo, representó, por su gravedad y alcance, un reto global sin precedentes. El principal objetivo fue identificar los beneficios otorgados por las experiencias vividas por profesores universitarios en Ingeniería de Software posterior a la implementación de diversas estrategias para enfrentar dicha contingencia en la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, México. El estudio realizado bajo el método inductivo, paradigma positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, tipo descriptivo y corte transversal. La población estuvo formada por alumnos que cursan Ingeniería de Software con una muestra no probabilística constituida por estudiantes que cursaron asignaturas específicas durante tres semestres. También, se describen los lineamientos implementados en la universidad y las estrategias y herramientas empleadas por los profesores que imparten las asignaturas que aborda este trabajo. Entre los instrumentos analizados en este estudio se encuentran actas de examen que corresponden a los estudiantes en los períodos señalados, así como entrevistas a los profesores sobre las estrategias y herramientas empleadas. No obstante, a algunas dificultades identificadas tanto para estudiantes como para profesores, los resultados obtenidos al implementar diversas estrategias antes, durante, y post pandemia fueron positivos, lo cual ha generado certidumbre en la comunidad universitaria. Sin duda, la pandemia creó espacios para reflexionar los procesos educativos, las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) y la situación real del estudiantado, con el fin de adoptar cambios e innovaciones.

  The sudden appearance of COVID-19 in China in December 2019 and its subsequent spread throughout the world represented an unprecedented global challenge due to its severity and scope. The main objective was to identify the benefits granted by the experiences lived by university professors in Software Engineering after the implementation of various strategies to face this contingency at the Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico. The study was carried out under the inductive, positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, non-experimental design, descriptive type, and cross-section. The population consisted of students studying Software Engineering with a non-probabilistic sample of students who took specific subjects for three semesters. Among the instruments analyzed in this study are examination records that correspond to students in the indicated periods and interviews with teachers about the strategies and tools used. Also, guidelines implemented in the university and the strategies and tools used by professors who teach the subjects addressed in this work are described. However, despite some difficulties identified for both students and professors, results obtained by implementing various strategies before, during, and after the pandemic were positive, generating certainty in the university community. Undoubtedly, the pandemic created spaces to reflect on educational processes, Information and Communication Technologies, and the actual situation of the student body to adopt changes and innovations.
