An overview of the coin finds from the Roman city of Tongeren

  • In Roman times, Tongeren was an important settlement and held the position of capital of the Civitas Tungrorum. In the last decade, three master’s dissertations have been written on the Roman coin ?nds at Tongeren, but no overview of the finds has been published. This article presents all the data and makes a preliminary analysis. The data are complemented by information from recent excavations. The paper’s goal is to make Tongeren’s global coin data available to the scientific world, and for this information to be interpreted in its context.
