Resumen de Habitar el borde: procesos de fronterización urbana en las experiencias de recolectores informales de residuos en la ciudad de Santa Fe

En este trabajo aportaremos elementos para interpretar de forma multidimensional el proceso de fronterización a partir del análisis de las experiencias de los carreros que residen en la ciudad de Santa Fe. La red de relaciones construidas en base a la adaptación como mecanismo de desigualdad (Tilly 2000) contiene un conjunto de sentidos, expresiones y “formas” que, incorporadas, constituyen un habitus (Bourdieu, 2007) vinculado (y vinculante) al territorio de origen. Para el caso de los individuos a los cuales aquí hacemos foco, este territorio se encuentra dentro de lo que se suele denominar y reconocer académicamente como “periferia”. A su vez, buscamos dar muestra que en los desplazamientos hacia un lado y otro de las fronteras los cuerpos acarrean este cúmulo de signos llevando “el territorio a cuestas” (Segato 2007) y, por lo tanto, la frontera se traslada hacia la forma que toman las interacciones generando procesos de identificación, demarcación, estigmatización y subalternización que estimulan el reenvío hacia los territorios de origen.
Este reenvío perpetúa la desigualdad y acentúa las precarias condiciones materiales de los mismos reproduciendo el carácter marginal que acompaña sus trayectorias vitales. A través del relato de los propios actores, atravesados por la marginalidad avanzada, veremos cómo operan algunos de los procesos de relegación y exclusión que aquí toman la forma de políticas estatales, de emprendimientos morales y de la propia adaptación de los individuos a los mecanismos de desigualdad.

In this work we will provide elements to interpret the process of transfrontier in a multidimensional way from the analysis of the experiences of the “carreros” who reside in the city of Santa Fe. The network of relationships built relying on of adaptation as a mechanism of inequality (Tilly 2000 ) contains a set of meanings, expressions and “forms” that, incorporated, constitute a habitus (Bourdieu, 2007) linked (and binding) to the territory of origin. In the case of the individuals we focus on here, this territory is within what is usually called and academically recognized as “periphery”. At the same time, we seek to exhibit that in the displacements to one side and the other of the borders, the bodies carry this accumulation of signs carrying “the territory on their backs” (Segato 2007) and, therefore, the border moves towards the form that take the interactions of identification, demarcation, stigmatization and subalternization that stimulate the forwarding towards the territories of origin. This reshipment perpetuates inequality and accentuates their precarious material conditions, reproducing the marginal character that accompanies their life trajectories. Through the story of the actors themselves, traversed by “advanced marginality”, we will see how some of the processes of relegation and exclusion operate, which here take the form of state policies, moral undertakings and the adaptation of individuals to the inequality mechanisms.
