Estudios sobre política e Internet: valoraciones, ámbitos de investigación y esfera civil

    Este artículo tiene por objetivo exponer cómo se ha abordado la relación entre Internet y política a partir de la revisión bibliográfica sobre el tema y establecer puentes entre estos y el estudio de la esfera civil. Se exponen los argumentos que han indicado la necesidad de prestar mayor atención a la relación entre transformaciones digitales, orden y cambio social en distintos ámbitos. Posteriormente, se hace énfasis en la forma en que los procesos políticos relacionados con Internet han sido objeto de distintas investigaciones. Se argumenta que las valoraciones optimistas y pesimistas sobre la relación entre Internet y política pueden ser mejor precisadas a la luz de tres investigaciones diferentes, aunque no excluyentes: ciberdemocracia, esfera pública virtual y ciberactivismo. Finalmente, se propone la esfera civil como una aproximación que permite articular estos ámbitos y encaminarlos en una ruta de investigaciones en las que puede surgir un diálogo provechoso ente sociología y antropología.

    The purpose of this article is to show how the relationship between the Internet and politics has been approached from the literature review on the subject and establish bridges between them and the study of the civil sphere. The arguments that have indicated the need to pay more attention to the relationship between digital transformations, order and social change in different areas are presented. Subsequently, emphasis is placed on the way in which political processes related to the Internet have been the subject of different research projects. It is argued that optimistic and pessimistic assessment of the relationship between the Internet and politics can be better defined in the light of three different, although not selective areas of research: cyberdemocracy, virtual public sphere and cyber-activism. Finally, the civil sphere is proposed as an approach that allows articulating these areas and guiding them in a research path in which a profitable dialogue between sociology and anthropology can emerge.
