  • Resumen
    • Joe Biden, the New us President: the End of Trumpism? · After sixty years, November 2020, saw the election as President of the United States of America of another Catholic of Irish descent, Joe Biden. This vote has divided America into opposing factions: Democrats and Republicans, Catholics and Protestants (especially Evangelical fundamentalists) who struggle to recognise and legitimise themselves. Therefore, a form of religious and cultural nationalism seems to prevail in the USA, which, combined with the evangelical fundamentalism and white supremacy of those who voted for Trump, has soldered cultural, religious and institutional elements into a populist, Manichean vision, which makes a summary distinction between Good and Evil as it permeates politics and society on the whole. The results of the vote also stemmed from the strident economic inequalities that still characterise the Country and which Biden will have to try to eliminate if he is to reunite it again
