Resumen de De hermanos y socios: las relaciones entre Turquía, Pakistán e India

En septiembre 2019, el presidente turco Recep Tayyip Erdo?an pronunció un discurso en la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas (UNGA) en el que aludió al conflicto de Cachemira y a la necesidad de que India y Pakistán resolvieran la disputa de forma dialogada. En este alegato, tomado como ejemplo de política contenciosa, Erdo?an incluye en su repertorio una región fuera de la esfera habitual de su política exterior. El objeto de este estudio es ver cómo este hecho afectó o qué reacciones provocaron en los países implicados. Para ello, se realizará un análisis crítico del discurso de los dirigentes de Turquía, India y Pakistán en la UNGA, y de las interactuaciones en Twitter de sus tres ministros de Exteriores. El periodo de tiempo analizado comprende el año anterior y posterior al cambio constitucional del estatuto de autonomía de la Cachemira india de agosto de 2019.

In 2019, the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, delivered a discourse at the United Nations General Assembly where he mentioned the Kashmir conflict. He called for the parts involved (India and Pakistan) to address the issue through dialogue. In this discourse, an example of contentious politics, Erdogan, thus, included a new region in his foreign policy’s repertoire. The object of this study is to find how this discourse affected the behaviour of these countries and their reactions to it through their discourses. Critical analysis discourse will be the tool to analyse the interactions between the leaders of Turkey, India and Pakistan at the UNGA, and the interactions in Twitter of the ministers of Foreign Affairs. The period of this episode spans the year before and after the revocation of Kashmir’s autonomous status in August 2019.
