Resumen de Consciência crítica e ética em Paulo Freire: uma reflexão sobre o sentido da religião em tempos de fundamentalismos

This article will deal with Paulo Freire from the perspective of education and critical awareness in the horizon of fundamentalism and the meaning of religion. He contributed as an educator to the emancipation of the subject in his real condition, by demystifying the oppressive layers present in consciousness. It can be extracted from it a relevant contribution regarding the phenomenon of current religious fundamentalism. This is characterized by a denial of critical capacity in his faith experience. Thus, this reflection proposes to gather from Freire's vision a possible contribution to a critical perspective on religious fundamentalism. The article, for this purpose, will follow the next path. First, the phenomenon of current religious fundamentalism with its challenges will be presented; then, it will cover the concepts of education and critical awareness in Paulo Freire; finally, the contribution of Freire's thinking will be highlighted in the face of the indicated phenomenon.

O presente artigo tratará sobre Paulo Freire a partir da ótica da educação e consciência crítica no horizonte dos fundamentalismos e o sentido da religião. Ele contribuiu como educador para a emancipação do sujeito em sua real condição, ao desmistificar as camadas opressivas presentes na consciência. Dele se pode extrair um relevante aporte no que tange ao fenômeno do fundamentalismo religioso atual. Este se caracteriza por uma negação da capacidade crítica em sua experiência de fé. Assim, esta reflexão propõe-se colher da visão freireana uma possível contribuição para uma perspectiva crítica diante do fundamentalismo religioso. O artigo, para este intento, trilhará o seguinte caminho. Primeiro, será apresentado o fenômeno do fundamentalismo religioso atual com seus desafios; depois, percorrerá os conceitos de educação e consciência crítica em Paulo Freire; por fim, evidenciar-se-á o contributo do pensamento de Freire diante do fenômeno indicado.
