    L’article étudie la façon dont Antiochos Ier, monté sur le trône de Commagène vers 70 av. J.-C., affiche sa parenté au sein des sanctuaires qu’il a fondés dans son royaume. Les sources sont uniquement épigraphiques et se composent essentiellement d’inscriptions royales. L’étude passe d’abord par une analyse de la titulature royale, longuement développée dans toutes les inscriptions ; dans un certain nombre d’entre elles, le souverain mentionne son papponyme maternel, usage qui n’est pas courant dans les monarchies hellénistiques et qu’il faut essayer de comprendre. L’article aborde ensuite la question du choix des ancêtres auquel Antiochos Ier rend hommage dans les hierothesia, à Arsamée-du-Nymphée et Arsamée-de-l’Euphrate d’une part, au Nemrud-Dag, à travers les « galeries des ancêtres », d’autre part : les sanctuaires des Arsamées et celui du Nemrud-Dag témoignent en effet, sur la question du discours royal sur le passé de la dynastie, de différences qui méritent qu’on les mette en avant bien davantage qu’on ne le fait en général.

    The article examines how Antiochos I, who ascended the throne of Commagene around 70 BC, displays his kinship in the sanctuaries he founded in his kingdom. The sources are epigraphic only, and consist mainly of royal inscriptions. The study begins with an analysis of the royal titulature, which is developed at length in all the inscriptions; in a number of them, the sovereign mentions his maternal papponym, a usage that is not common in Hellenistic monarchies and which one must try to understand. The article then deals with the question of the choice of ancestors to which Antiochos I pays homage in the hierothesia, at Arsameia ad Nymphaeum and Arsameia ad Euphraten on the one hand, and at the Nemrud Dağ, through the “galleries of ancestors” on the other: the shrines of the Arsameias and the Nemrud Dağ bear witness to differences in royal discourse on the past of the dynasty that deserve to be highlighted much more than is generally the case.
