    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar los desafíos de la  de la gerencia social en el área de salud integral comunitaria (ASIC), fundamentado teóricamente por los autores: Mokate y Saavedra (2008) y Kliksberg (2013), entre otros. La  metodología utilizada se adhiere al paradigma cuantitativo, con un tipo de investigación descriptiva, de diseño no experimental, transeccional, de campo. Teniendo como población las Área de Salud Integral Comunitaria (ASIC) del Municipio Miranda, en el Estado  Zulia, Venezuela;  conformado por cincuenta y cuatro médicos distribuidos en las ASIC de Las Salinas y Alto Viento. Se utilizó la técnica de la encuesta, con el instrumento de tipo cuestionario con treinta y nueve ítems, escala tipo Likert, validado por cinco expertos, alcanzando una confiabilidad de 0,92. Se aplicó la estadística descriptiva, de cuyos análisis y discusión se encontró una moderada aplicación de los desafíos de la gerencia social, dando prioridad al alcance de la gestión y  los problemas técnicos versus los adaptativos

    The general objective of this research was to analyze the challenges of social management in the area of ​​comprehensive community health (ASIC), theoretically based on the authors: Mokate and Saavedra (2008) and Kliksberg (2013), among others. The methodology used adheres to the quantitative paradigm, with a type of descriptive research, non-experimental, transectional, field design. Having as population the Comprehensive Community Health Area (ASIC) of the Miranda Municipality, in the State of Zulia, Venezuela; made up of fifty-four doctors distributed in the ASICs of Las Salinas and Alto Viento. The survey technique was used, with a questionnaire-type instrument with thirty-nine items, Likert-type scale, validated by five experts, reaching a reliability of 0.92. Descriptive statistics were applied, from whose analysis and discussion a moderate application of the challenges of social management was found, giving priority to the scope of management and technical problems vs. the adaptive ones.
