Luchas por la hegemonía viril: valores masculinos y pertenencia social en los manuales de historia españoles (1931-1982)

    Este artículo se apoya en los aportes teóricos realizados acerca del concepto de interseccionalidad para estudiar el ideal viril que los manuales de historia publicados entre 1931 y 1982 reflejan y portan a la vez. Se sitúa en el cruce de las identidades de género y de clase social para identificar en qué medida se relacionan, y en particular cuál es su relación con los ideales masculinos que el régimen franquista pretende entonces imponer en la sociedad. Se evidencia la afirmación, a largo plazo, del ideal del “hombre burgués”, que corresponde en parte con los ideales sociales y de clase de una porción importante de los redactores de los manuales. Sin embargo, el franquismo constituye un paréntesis en dicha afirmación y asistimos a la resurrección de la figura del hidalgo, con los ideales que se le asocian. Así, al mostrar la lucha entre diferentes modelos masculinos, este trabajo participa en la discusión acerca de la fecunda noción de “masculinidad hegemónica”.

    This article is based on the theoretical input about the concept of intersectionality in order to study the virile idea the history textbooks published between 1931 and 1982 reflect and promote at the same time. It is situated at the crossroads of gender and class identities to study how they are related, how they evolved during half century, and the relation they have with the masculine ideal the Franco regime seeks to impose on all the society. The long-term affirmation of the ideal of the “bourgeois man”, which corresponds in part to the social and class ideals of a significant part of the writers of the textbooks, is evident. However, Francoism constitutes a parenthesis in this affirmation and we witness the resurrection of the figure of the hidalgo, with the ideals associated with him. Thus, by showing the struggle between different masculine models, this work participates in the discussion about the fertile notion of "hegemonic masculinity".
