Resumen de La cátedra Misteri d’Elx de la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche: acciones de salvaguardia de la Festa o Misteri d’Elx

La Ley Orgánica 11/1983, de 25 de agosto, de Reforma Universitaria fue pionera en la modernización de la Universidad española bajo el propósito de transformarla y adaptarla a las nuevas demandas sociales tomando como referencia el modelo de la Universidad europea, institución en la que ya confluían la enseñanza superior y la investigación. El cambio de siglo también ha propiciado una nueva visión de lo que la Universidad será en el futuro junto al planteamiento de nuevos interrogantes. Bajo estos designios, se aprobó la creación de la Cátedra Misteri d’Elx cuyo acuerdo destaca que la Universidad Miguel Hernández, desde su creación, ha tratado de integrarse en la sociedad ilicitana, impulsando su actividad económica e industrial y participando activamente en su vida social y cultural. Dicho interés ha llevado a la Universidad a preocuparse por las manifestaciones culturales más representativas de la ciudad y merecedoras de reconocimiento como Patrimonio de la Humanidad, entre las que destaca, sin duda alguna, la Festa o Misteri d’Elx. A dicha inquietud responde la creación de la Cátedra institucional Misteri d’Elx por parte de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, que salvaguarda y divulga el Misteri d’Elx desde el ámbito de la investigación científica y a través de acciones de divulgación universitarias. Mediante otras fórmulas que no siempre resultarán coincidentes, se protegen desde las universidades otros bienes españoles reconocidos igualmente como patrimonio cultural inmaterial por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO). Concretamente, la cátedra Misteri d’Elx desarrolla su actuación mediante muy variadas actividades de formación, investigación y divulgación del Misteri d’Elx.

The University Reform Law of 1983 (LRU) was a pioneer in the modernisation of the Spanish University with the aim of transforming it and adapting it to the new social demands, taking as a reference the model of the European University, an institution in which higher education and research already converged. The turn of the century also brought about a new vision of what the University would be in the future, together with the raising of new questions. Under these designs, the creation of the Misteri d’Elx Chair was approved. The agreement highlights that the Miguel Hernández University, since its creation, has tried to integrate itself in the society of Elche, promoting its economic and industrial activity and participating actively in its social and cultural life. This interest has led the University to concern itself with the most representative cultural manifestations of the city and worthy of recognition as World Heritage, among which the Festa or Misteri d’Elx undoubtedly stands out. The creation of the Misteri d’Elx Institutional Chair by the Miguel Hernández University, which safeguards and disseminates the Misteri d’Elx from the field of scientific research and through university dissemination actions, is a response to this concern. Through other formulas that do not always coincide, the universities protect other Spanish assets that are also recognised as intangible cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). Specifically, the Misteri d’Elx Chair carries out its activities through a wide range of training, research and dissemination activities on the Misteri d’Elx.
