Resumen de Menorca romana, les fonts escrites i la documentació arqueològica

Aquest article té com a missió sintetitzar el període romà comprès entre els anys 27 aC i 212 dC, època que es considera com de major esplendor de l’imperi Romà. Menorca, que havia entrat a formar part del món romà a partir de l’any 123 aC, va adquirint els costums romans en la manera de viure, de relacionar-se, de fer política, de morir, factor que es coneix com a romanització. D’altra banda, no s’abandonen del tot algunes característiques molt pròpies del món indígena, sobretot a les zones rurals, on es continua vivint als poblats talaiòtics.

The purpose of this article is to summarize the Roman period comprising the years 27 B.C. to 212 A.D. which is considered to be the time interval when the splendour of the Roman Empire reached its peak. Minorca had become part of the Roman word in the year 123 B.C and as a result the island adopted the roman customs in lifestyle, relationships, politics, death rituals; this process is known as Romanization. On the other hand, not all the characteristics that were distinctive of the native world were abandoned, particularly in the rural areas where people continued to live in the talayotic hamlets.
