    El presente trabajo constituye una revisión general de la discusión jurídica contemporánea relativa a dos concepciones de las normas que Alchourrón y Bulygin consideraron incompatibles y mutuamente excluyentes: la concepción expresiva y la concepción hilética. A partir de una reconstrucción general de la tesis de dichos autores y algunas de las críticas que socavan la tesis de la incompatibilidad, se sostiene que la teoría de Kelsen relativa a la existencia de las normas jurídicas presenta elementos propios de ambas concepciones. El trabajo concluye con algunas ideas sobre la integración de factores pragmáticos en las tesis kelsenianas relativas a expresiones lingüísticas que tienen el sentido de normas o mandatos y la justificación de una tesis ecléctica o no reduccionista en la lectura del problema ontológico de las normas en Kelsen.

    This paper constitutes a general revision of the contemporary legal discussion relative to the conceptions of norms presented by Alchourrón and Bulygin and considered incompatible and mutually exclusive: the expressive conception and the hyletic conception of norms. Based on a general reconstruction of Alchourrón and Bulygin thesis and the review of criticisms that undermine its incompatible character, it is argued that Kelsen theory about the existence of norms have characteristics of both conceptions. The paper concludes with a thesis based on the integration of pragmatic factors in Kelsen's ideas connected to linguistic expressions with normative meaning and the defense of an eclectic or non-reductionist thesis about conceptions of norms in this author.
