    Cette contribution explore le problème des milieux doctrinaux qui sont à l’origine du plus ancien commentaire latin aux Aphorismes hippocratiques (Lat A). Dans ce but, on étudie les doctrines que Lat A partage avec le commentaire alexandrin d’Étienne d’Athènes sur deux points : (a) la rose des vents, qui sont classés en deux, quatre et douze ; (b) la doctrine de la conception et la partie de l’embryon qui se forme en premier lieu dans l’utérus. Lat A et Étienne coïncident à considérer les veines et les artères les premières à se former en vue de rendre possible l’arrivée de la nourriture à l’embryon. D’autre part, on constate que certains matériaux de provenance latine, et probablement chrétienne, viennent s’ajouter à la tradition alexandrine dans laquelle Lat A s’enracine.

    The present contribution explores the problem of the doctrinal context behind the origin of the oldest Latin commentary on the Hippocratic Aphorisms (Lat A). With this purpose, we study the doctrines that Lat A. shares with the Alexandrine commentary by Stephanus of Athens in two aspects: (a) the wind rose, which classifies them in two, four and twelve; b) the conception doctrine and the part of the embryo that is previously formed in the uterus. Lat A and Stephanus coincide in considering veins and arteries as the first ones to be formed so as to allow nourishment get to the embryo. Notwithstanding, it can be observed that some Latin materials, probably of Christian origin, are added to the Alexandrine tradition in which Lat A is rooted.
