    El municipio de Uayma, ubicado al oriente de Yucatán, fue objeto de estudio en esta investigación. La exploración y el mapeo al interior y exterior del área con base en las investigaciones a los sitios Santa Rosa y Uayma que habían sido registrados por Garza y Kurjack (1980) y mediante vuelos con equipo de información geográfica (VANT2), se obtuvo evidencia para la interpretación y comprensión de las características prehispánicas en el entorno urbano actual del poblado, así como una reinterpretación sobre la cimentación del convento de Santo Domingo.

    Uayma, a municipality located to the east of Yucatan, was the object of study in this research. Exploration and mapping inside and outside the area based on the investigations of the Santa Rosa and Uayma sites that had been recorded by Garza and Kurjack (1980) and through flights with a geographic information equipment (VANT), evidence was obtained for interpretation and understanding of the pre-Hispanic characteristics in the current urban environment of the town, as well as a reinterpretation of the foundations of the Santo Domingo convent.
