    En el texto que Foucault dedicó a la obra de Velázquez, encontramos que la problemática del espacio está muy presente, como en general lo estuvo en sus observaciones. A lo largo de estas líneas indagamos en esa aproximación característica del pensamiento del autor, que él mismo localizaba en el espacio del mundo, teniendo como referencia el cuadro que fue objeto de su estudio. La temporalidad, la invisibilidad, el vacío y los límites son cuestiones que abordamos en este análisis donde advertimos que los espacios se adaptan a los requisitos de una nueva mirada y esta, a diseños insólitos como el panóptico. Se establece también una comparativa con la lectura que Foucault realizó sobre algunas pinturas de Manet, confrontando las conclusiones a las que el autor llegó tras profundizar en la obra de uno y otro artista.

    In the text that Foucault dedicated to the work of Velázquez, we find that the theme of the space is very present, as it was in general in his observations. Throughout these lines we investigate this approach, characteristic of the author´s thinking, which he himself located in the space of the world, taking as a reference the painting that was the object of his study. Temporality, invisibility, emptiness, and limits are issues that we address in this analysis where we realize that the spaces adapt to the requirements of a new look and this, to unusual designs such as the panopticon. A comparison is also made with Foucault´s reading of some of Manet´s paintings, confronting the conclusions reached by the author after studying the work of both artists in depth.
