Resumen de Filosofía y ágape: sobre la necesidad vital de comer y beber en tiempos globales

El artículo da cuenta, a partir del valor simbólico del Banquete de Platón, de la importancia de la celebración y la fiesta como un trasfondo característico y propio de las sociedades no sólo de la antigüedad, sino hasta hoy. En dicha comensalidad celebrativa no hay anulación del intercambio de ideas ni del diálogo, sino más bien un aliciente a la concreción de estos, donde la reflexión se conjuga con el placer de comer y compartir con otros. Se indaga en ideas de diferentes tradiciones sapienciales, y también se abre a las múltiples dimensiones éticas y políticas en que no todos los pueblos tienen lo necesario para satisfacer las necesidades vitales, y se contrapone a un mundo opulento donde se botan los alimentos y que se confronta a las necesidades de millones de personas que no tienen lo necesario, e incluso de millones que mueren de hambre.

The article gives an account of the symbolic value of Plato's Banquet based on the importance of the celebration and the party as a characteristic background and characteristic of societies not only in antiquity, but until today. In this celebratory commensality there is no cancellation of the exchange of ideas or dialogue, but rather an incentive to the realization of these, where reflection is combined with the pleasure of eating and sharing with others. It investigates ideas from different wisdom traditions, and also opens up to the multiple ethical and political dimensions in which not all peoples have what is necessary to satisfy vital needs, and an opulent world where food is thrown away and that is opposed to the needs of millions of people who do not have what they need and even millions who die of hunger.
