    El ensayo, a partir de lo que ha sido llamado el nuevo Derecho Constitucional, se ocupa de reflexionar sobre la función del juez constitucional en un Estado Social, Democrático y de Derecho y la manera como debe acoger los valores y principios constitucionales. Como referente se acude a los planteamientos de importantes ius teóricos modernos y a la doctrina de la propia Corte Constitucional.
