    El objetivo de este trabajo es poner de relieve el papel que se le otorgó a la flauta en la música religiosa dieciochesca en una de las grandes instituciones eclesiásticas andaluzas, la catedral de Granada. Para ello se ha elegido la obra Lauda, Jerusalem, Dominum de Ramón Garay, un salmo a cinco voces con acompañamiento instrumental de dos violines, una flauta obligada y bajo. De esta obra, compuesta por quien fue maestro de capilla de la catedral de Jaén, se conserva un manuscrito en los archivos de la institución granadina. Aunque se desconoce su fecha de composición, el tipo de escritura para flauta permite datarla en los últimos años del siglo. En todo caso, el análisis de la pieza y de la utilización que Ramón Garay hace del instrumento, muestran el interés creciente que este suscitaba en los compositores de música religiosa de la época, y aporta una valiosa información sobre el tipo de flauta que podía estar utilizándose en el sur de España en el último cuarto del siglo XVIII.

    The aim of this work is to highlight the role given to the flute in eighteenth-century religious music in one of the great Andalusian ecclesiastical institutions, the Cathedral of Granada. To this purpose, I have chosen Lauda, Jerusalem, Dominum by Ramón Garay. The work is a psalm for five voices with instrumental accompaniment of two violins, an obbligato flute and bass. A manuscript of this work, composed by the former chapel master of the Cathedral of Jaén, is preserved in the archives of the Granada institution. Although its date of composition is unknown, the type of writing for flute allows us to date it around the last years of the 18th century. In any case, the analysis of the piece and Ramón Garay's use of the instrument show the growing interest that it aroused in the composers of religious music of the time, and provides valuable information about the type of flute that could have been in use in southern Spain in the last quarter of the 18th century.
