    Que Ireneo de Lyon perteneció a una corriente de pensamiento denominada “milenarismo”, cuyos antecedentes habría que encontrar en la apocalíptica judía y cristiana, nadie lo niega. La cuestión es preguntarse por qué fue milenarista, qué tipo de milenarismo es el que propone y cuáles son las implicaciones para su teología. De aquí las tres partes de que se compone este artículo.

    Nobody denies that Irenaeus of Lyon belonged to a theological current called "millenarianism", whose antecedents should be found in the Jewish and Christian apocalyptic. The question is to ask why he was a millenarian, what type of millenarianism is the one he proposes and what are the implications for his theology. Hence the three parts of which this article is composed.
