Resumen de Análisis comparativo del transcriptoma del tejido adiposo entre cerdos con fenotipos extremos para la composición de ácidos grasos en grasa intramuscular

  • The adipose tissue is one of the main organs implicated in the regulation of porcine lipid metabolism and it is involved in the overall fatty acid synthesis. New advances in high-throughput technologies allowed us to characterize the porcine adipose tissue transcriptome architecture. The main goal of this work was to detect the over-represented pathways in 12 Iberian x Landrace crossbred pigs showing extreme phenotypes for intramuscular fatty acid composition (L and H). Data obtained represents 11.5-fold of the porcine genome and most of the reads were mapped in coding regions (66-72%). The RNA-Seq expression data shows a high correlation with microarrays data (r=0.68). A differential expression analysis identified 372 differentialexpressed genes between both groups. In the L group, 291 genes were detected as up-regulated genes, while only 81 genes were down-regulated. Differential-expressed genes allowed us to identify over-represented pathways such as fatty acid biosynthesis, insulin and adipocytokine signaling pathways. These results will be analyzed to find candidate genes and networks regulating meat quality traits in pigs.
