  George es profesor de música en un centro educativo y Benjamin es pintor y galerista. Ambos son personas mayores residentes en Nueva York. Tras 39 años de feliz convivencia, deciden legalizar su situación civil y contraer matrimonio. A la ceremonia asiste un grupo de familiares y amistades. Después del inolvidable evento, surgen problemas que repercutirán en la vida de George y Benjamin. Sin explicación alguna, George es despedido del colegio donde trabaja desde hace doce años. Como consecuencia, la pareja abandona su piso en Manhattan y solicita ayuda de parientes y amigos mientras encuentran una vivienda asequible.

  Cuestiones económicas inesperadas hacen que ambos vivan alejados un tiempo. Benjamin se traslada al piso de su sobrino en Brooklyn, con su esposa e hijo. Y George se aloja en casa de dos amigos policías. La separación y la convivencia en hogares ajenos provoca que Benjamin y George sientan nostalgia y soledad. Por ello, se presenta un futuro incierto lleno de dificultades y emociones.

  George is a music teacher at a distinguished educational center and Benjamin is a painter and gallery owner. Both are elderly residents of New York. After 39 years of happy coexistence, they decide to legalize their civil situation and get married. A group of family and friends attend the celebration.

  Shortly after the unforgettable event, problems arise that will affect the lives of George and Benjamin. Without explanation, George is fired from the educational center where he has worked for 12 years. As a result, the couple must leave their long-awaited apartment in Manhattan and enlist the temporary help of relatives and friends while they find affordable housing in another area of the city.

  Unexpected financial issues cause the two to live apart for a while. Benjamin moves to his nephew's apartment in Brooklyn, along with his wife and teenage son. And George is staying at the home of two police friends.

  The separation and coexistence in other people's homes causes Benjamin and George to feel nostalgia and loneliness. Therefore, they will have to solve an uncertain future full of difficulties and emotions.
