    El Ejército de Tierra ha querido dedicar una de las efemérides del año 2022 a la memoria del Comandante, y Teniente Coronel graduado, Francisco Villamartín y Ruiz con ocasión del 150 aniversario de su fallecimiento. Su obra «Nociones del Arte Militar» no sólo signifi có la renovación y el impulso del pensamiento militar español del siglo XIX, sino que también le ha asignado un lugar de honor entre los grandes tratadistas militares europeos de la época por la profundidad de su pensamiento, conocimiento histórico y lucidez anticipatoria.

    The Army wanted to dedicate one of the anniversaries of the year 2022 to the memory of the Major, and ‘graduated’ Lieutenant Colonel, Francisco Villamartín y Ruiz on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his death.

    His work “Notions of Military Art” not only meant the renewal and impulse of the Spanish military way of thinking in the 19th century, but it has also assigned him a place of honour among the great European military writers of the time due to the depth of his thought, historical knowledge and anticipatory lucidity

    L’Armée a voulu dédier l’un des éphémérides de l’année 2022 à la mémoire du commandant et lieutenant-colonel diplômé Francisco Villamartín y Ruiz à l’occasion du 150e anniversaire de sa mort. Son œuvre « Notions d’art militaire » n’a pas seulement signifi é le renouveau et l’impulsion de la pensée militaire espagnole du XIXe siècle, mais elle lui a également attribué une place d’honneur parmi les grands écrivains militaires européens de l’époque en raison de la profondeur de son pensée, connaissance historique et lucidité anticipative.
