    El valor que las instituciones públicas dan al trámite documentario ha aumento, especialmente como resultado de la pandemia del Covid-19, por lo que es necesario implementar técnicas de automatización basadas en sistemas digitales, que buscan mejorar la eficiencia en el desarrollo de sus procesos, ahorrando tiempo y recursos económicos. El objetivo de la revisión ha sido ilustrar la importancia de la automatización de procesos, mediante el empleo de tecnología en el trámite documentario y su repercusión en instituciones públicas. La obtención de la información se ha basado en la técnica de revisión integradora, empleando el motor de búsqueda Google Académico, asegurando que los artículos revisados hayan sido publicados en revistas indexadas entre los años 2015 al 2020. La revisión ha permitido determinar que la automatización y la tecnología juegan un papel importante en la administración pública y en los trámites documentarios efectuados en esta. Se concluye que, el trámite documentario es un proceso operativo fundamental que al ser automatizado genera grandes beneficios para las instituciones, como la reducción del tiempo y ahorro en los recursos económicos, pues permite el claro establecimiento del ciclo de vida de los trámites, desde el momento en que se crean o se reciben hasta que se derivan y entregan al ciudadano

    The value that public institutions give to the documentary process has increased, especially as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, so it is necessary to implement automation techniques based on digital systems, which seek to improve efficiency in the development of their processes, saving time and financial resources. The objective of the review has been to illustrate the importance of process automation, using technology in the documentation process and its impact on public institutions. To obtain the information we based on the integrative review technique, using the Google Scholar search engine, selecting articles published only in indexed journals between 2015 and 2020. The review has allowed determining that the Automation and technology play an important role in public administration and in the documentary, procedures carried out in it. We concluded that the documentary procedure is a fundamental operational process that generates great benefits for the institutions, such as the reduction of time and savings in economic resources, since it allows the clear establishment of the life cycle of the procedures, from the moment they are created or received until they got by the citizen
