Resumen de Un nuovo manoscritto del De mulieribus claris di Boccaccio con l’aggiunta latina di Donato Albanzani: Pisa, Biblioteca Universitaria, 540

In this paper I provide the analysis of a new witness of Boccaccio’s De mulieribus claris (Pisa, Biblioteca Universitaria, 540), which must be added to the wide manuscript tradition of this work. It is a manuscript characterised by the humanistic taste for ancient biographies of famous men and women and for translations from Greek to Latin; it is of particular interest because, in the final section, it contains the Latin version of the addition to the life of queen Johanna I of Naples, written by Donato Albanzani ‒ doctor gramatice et retorice, and a close friend of Boccaccio and Petrarch, known for his Italian vernacular translations of Boccaccio’s De mulieribus claris and Petrarch’s De viris illustribus. Hence, I offer a thorough description of the codicological aspects of the item, of its content, and of its cultural background; moreover, I provide the results of a philological study aimed at identifying the redactional phase of De mulieribus claris to whom this item corrisponds, amongst the nine phases extablished by the editor of the text, Zaccaria. Finally, in the last paragraph of my article, I have attached a complete list of MSS contaning Boccaccio’s De mulieribus claris, including all the items and fragments discovered after the last list published by Zaccaria (2001), and correcting erroneous shelfmarks, where needed.

In questo contributo fornisco l’analisi di un nuovo testimone del De mulieribus claris (Pisa, Biblioteca Universitaria, 540) che dev’essere aggiunto alla già ampia tradizione diretta dell’opera. Si tratta di un manoscritto caratterizzato dal gusto umanistico per le biografie di personaggi illustri e per le traduzioni dal greco al latino; un ms. che risulta di particolare interesse per il fatto che tramanda, nella sezione finale del De mulieribus, l’aggiunta latina alla vita della regina Giovanna I di Napoli composta da Donato Albanzani, maestro di grammatica e retorica e amico intimo del Boccaccio e del Petrarca, nonché volgarizzatore del De mulieribus e del De viris illustribus. Nell’articolo descrivo e studio il manoscritto sotto l’aspetto codicologico e contenutistico, mettendone in risalto il profilo culturale, e fornisco i risultati dell’analisi filologica rivolta a identificare la fase redazionale cui è possibile ricondurre questo testimone, partendo dalla ripartizione in nove fasi stabilita dall’editore del testo, Zaccaria. Infine, allego una lista completa e aggiornata dei testimoni del De mulieribus claris boccacciano, includendo tutti i testimoni segnalati dopo l’ultima lista di Zaccaria (2001) e aggiornando e correggendo le segnature dei mss. indicate nei precedenti elenchi, ove necessario.
