Se estudian las distintas especies de Quetognatos presentes en el Mar de Alborán en julio de 1975, así como su distribución, analizando su presencia en las distintas estaciones.
A study was made of Chaetognatha in the Alboran Sea from the point of view of species found and their distribution. Most abundant was S. enflata (77,4%) and S. decipiens (8,19%); others present were S. minima, S. friderici, S. lyra, S. tasmanica, S. serratodentata and S. bipunctata.
The diversity was low (0,21-2,20). The highest values were found in the coastal zone and on the periphery of the upwelling opposite Marbella.
The species association was also low, but the statistical analysis of the inventaries revealed three different zones namely: the coastal, the areas affected by the upwelling and the areas under the influence of the intrusion of Atlantic water. It is believed that these statistical analyses may help define the water masses that constitute the complex hydrology of the Alboran Sea.
