    El concepto de «especial trascendencia constitucional» se introdujo en nuestro sistema jurídico con la Ley Orgánica 6/2007, de 24 de mayo, por la que se modificó la Ley Orgánica 2/1979, de 3 de octubre, del Tribunal Constitucional. Se presentó legalmente como un concepto jurídico indeterminado que causó gran inseguridad jurídica desde su introducción. Teniendo en cuenta la gran indeterminación del citado concepto, el Pleno del Tribunal consideró necesario clarificarlo. La STC 155/2009 recogió una serie  de  supuestos  en  los  que,  sin  ánimo de comprender un elenco cerrado, cabe  apreciar  la  especial  trascendencia  constitucional. No obstante, esta clarificación fue insuficiente, por lo que se hace necesario un análisis de la jurisprudencia posterior a esta sentencia para determinar el sentido de este concepto.

    The concept of "special constitutional importance" was introduced in our legal system with Organic Law 6/2007, of May 24, which modified Organic Law 2/1979, of October 3, of the Constitutional Court. It was legally presented as an indeterminate legal concept that caused great legal insecurity since its introduction. Taking into account the great indeterminacy of this concept, the Plenary of the Court considered necessary to clarify it. The STC 155/2009 collected a series of assumptions in which, without the intention of understanding a closed list, it is possible to appreciate the special constitutional transcendence. However, this clarification was insufficient, so an analysis of the jurisprudence subsequent to this judgment is necessary to determine the meaning of this concept.
