Dejando atrás el Medievo un pequeño puerto marinero intenta superar las limitaciones legales a su actividad pesquera y comercial. En el pueblo se dan cita mercaderes de vino del sur de Galicia, pilotos responsables de rutas marítimas estables con destinos como el País Vasco, empresarios locales y foráneos, mujeres que logran hacerse un hueco tanto en la empresa como en el control tributario. Bretones, asturianos, vizcaínos, incluso algún sueco y alemán, todos tenían negocios que hacer en Muxía. También piratas y políticos corruptos. En este artículo se intentan condensar la información recopilada por el autor en fuentes primarias al estudiar conflictos judiciales, mercancías y comerciantes en sus respectivos contextos.

Leaving the Middle Ages behind, a small coastal town tries to overcome the legal limitations to its fishing and commercial activity. Wine merchants from the south of Galicia, pilots responsible for stable maritime routes to destinations such as the Basque Country, local and foreign traders, women who managed to carve out a niche for themselves both in market management and in tax control, they all met there. Bretons, Asturians, Biscayans, even some Swedes and Germans, all of them had business to do in Muxía. Including pirates and corrupt politicians. This article attempts to condense the information gathered by the author from primary sources by studying court cases, commodities and traders in their respective contexts.
