A new residential development is being built on a site at Lansdowne Mews, Charlton. The developer wants to conduct a BREEAM Ecohomes Ecological Assessment to reduce the ecological impact of the development and gain recognition for sustainable development practice. This assessment is based on a biodiversity credits scheme. There are 9 credits available if the following recommendations are undertaken: check the buildings on site before demolition due to their potential for bat roosts, carry out good horticultural practice, tree and bulbs planting, erect bat and ladybird boxes, gain a post development species change greater than 9 natural species ha_1 and have a floor area/footprint ratio of the development greater than 2.5.
