    La crisis diplomática originada por el cambio de posición del Gobierno español respecto al Sahara occidental ha disparado las cifras de inmigrantes irregulares procedentes de Argelia, lo que unido al conflicto por el suministro de gas argelino han puesto a este país magrebí en el foco de la actualidad internacional. Por ello se hace conveniente profundizar en el estudio del Tratado de Asociación entre la Comunidad Europa y Argelia para concretar qué derechos laborales y de Seguridad Social se han de reconocer a los trabajadores argelinos en el territorio donde se aplica el Derecho de la Unión Europea al amparo de este tratado internacional.

    The diplomatic crisis caused by the Spanish government's change of position on Western Sahara has increased the number of illegal immigrants from Algeria, which, together with the conflict over the supply of Algerian gas, has placed this Maghreb country in the international spotlight. It is therefore necessary to study the Association Treaty between the European Community and Algeria in greater depth in order to specify which labour and social security rights Algerian workers must be granted in the territory where European Union law applies under this international treaty
