    La encarnación es la base de la devoción cristiana a los santos, concretamente en sus imágenes y reliquias.

    Dios se ha hecho hombre y por eso su revelación y conocimiento nos llega en el hombre Jesús, pero mucho más allá seguimos relacionándonos con Él y adorándolo a través de sus criaturas humanas.

    Aquí está la base del arte cristiano, de los santuarios de peregrinación. También aparece la teología de “divinización” humana al final de este acercamiento a Dios a través de nuestros hermanos los santos.

    La teología de Juan Damasceno nos lo muestra.
