Registros recientes del grisón (Galictis vittata) y el tigrillo (Leopardus wiedii) en la Sierra Nororiental de Puebla, México

    El grisón (Galictis vittata) y el tigrillo o margay (Leopardus wiedii) son dos especies del orden carnivora que presentan vacíos de información en cuanto a su distribución geográfica. En este trabajo presentamos registros recientes del grisón y del tigrillo en la Sierra Nororiental del estado de Puebla, México. Nuestros registros se basan en fotografías obtenidas mediante fototrampeo en un bosque mesófilo de montaña con fragmentos de vegetación secundaria. Aunque la presencia del grisón y tigrillo ya ha sido documentada en el norte del estado de Puebla, es de resaltar que los presentes registros llenan vacíos de información sobre la presencia de ambas especies en la Sierra Nororiental del estado de Puebla, una región reconocida por su alta biodiversidad.

    The greater grison (Galictis vittata) and the tigrillo or margay (Leopardus wiedii) are two species of the order carnivora that present information gaps regarding their distribution. In this work we present recent records of the greater grison and the margay in the Sierra Nororiental of the State of Puebla, Mexico. Our records are based on photographs obtained by photo-trapping in a mountain mesophyll forest with fragments of secondary vegetation. Although the presence of the greater grison and margay has already been documented in the north of the state of Puebla, it is noteworthy that the present records fill information gaps on the presence of both species in the Sierra Nororiental of the state of Puebla, a region recognized for its high biodiversity.
