Resumen de Segundo Registro de Lasionycteris noctivagans (Chiroptera Vespertilionidae) en México

  • Abstract: The silver-haired bat (Lasionycteris noctivagans) has a marginal distribution in Mexico. Only was knew one record of 1967. In a field trip to the "La Peregrina" Canyon in 2009 was captured a specimen of Lasionycteris noctivagans. This record represents the second in Tamaulipas and Mexico after 33 years and the southernmost locality. This bat is under special protection according to NOM-059-ECOL-2001. This result suggests an increased conservation and protection standars of these rare species and their potential habitat in Mexico.Palabras clave: Registro, Chiroptera, Lasionycteris noctivagans, Tamaulipas, México.
