  El ensayo que sigue, sostiene que el mito es elemento base en la estructura de la religión, a través de la producción de sentido por medio del rito y el ethos. Se expondrá en primer lugar, la concepción funcionalista en torno al mito, explicando a partir de Malinowski, el papel fundamental que éste juega en función de la cultura. A continuación, se reseñará el aporte a la comprensión de las estructuras míticas teorizado por Claude Lévi-Strauss. Demostrando, mediante el ejemplo particular del mito de los gemelos, la reiteración del mitema de la violencia fratricida en el seno de la cultura.

  The essay that follows maintains that myth is a base element in the structure of religion, through the production of meaning by means of rite and ethos. In the first place, the functionalist conception around the myth will be exposed, explaining from Malinowski, the fundamental role that it plays in terms of culture. Next, the contribution to the understanding of mythical structures theorized by Claude Lévi-Strauss will be reviewed. Demonstrating, through the particular example of the myth of the twins, the reiteration of the myth of fratricidal violence within the culture.
